“A life without love is like a year without spring”

Yes, the days are getting longer, the weather is getting milder (most days)- dare we say we could be forgiven for having a bit of a spring in our step around the Rebel City these days.

Spring is one of our favourite times of the year in our city-centre boutique hotel.  Our quaint courtyard is blooming into life; new menus are on the horizon at Greenes Restaurant and Cask Bar and best of all, we’re looking forward to the busy season ahead kicking off over the Saint Patrick’s Day Festival weekend.

There seems to be so much to look forward to in the months ahead.  New ideas!  New creativity!  New adventures!  So much to look forward to and celebrate!

Allow us to share some of the very good reasons for a spring break to Hotel Isaacs and our charming home by the Lee:

Best 3* Star Hotel in Ireland:

Yes, you heard right!  A stay in Hotel Isaacs is a stay in Ireland’s Best 3 Star Hotel!  We won big at the Virgin Media Gold Star Hotel Awards beating off fierce competition to secure first place at Ireland’s most prestigious hotel awards.  Recognised for our exceptional attention to the guest experience as well as our uniquely characterful deluxe and superior rooms in a stellar location where guests can look forward to a feast for the senses in the multi-award winning Cask Bar and Greenes Restaurant- all of the team are delighted to be starting the season with such an accolade under our belts.  We can’t wait to share it with you.

Game Changer Award at the Cork Irish Hotel Awards:

We’ve clearly started the year on a competitive note with our Business Analyst-Diego Flores Pino scooping up the Game Changer Award at the Annual Cork Irish Hotel Awards.  Hailing from Chile and a valued member of our team since 2022, Diego first started as a Kitchen Porter before quickly seeing a gap in our offering and creating a brand new role for himself within our organisation as Business Analyst ensuring that we continue to surpass our sustainability and green targets.

Saint Patrick’s Day:

Nothing quite screams ‘Spring is here’ as much as the St Patrick’s Day Festival weekend.  Each year, it gets bigger and better with lots of green, festivity, craic agus ceol, not forgetting the massive St Patrick’s Day parade that is getting ready to swarm our city streets.  Taking place at 1pm on Monday, March 17th (yes, it’s a bank holiday in Ireland), expect a vibrant and colourful display from all members of the community with special guests and brass bands from all around the world.  Of course, there is a huge spectacle of events going on over the entire weekend including pop-up bands, the famous St Patrick’s Hill ball run and even an Irish Hooley.

Mother’s Day: Sunday, March 30th:

Hot on the heels of the madness of St Patrick’s Day comes the more sedate celebration of one of the most important people in our lives.  Whether it be your mother, grandmother, aunt or even the dreaded mother-in-law, a weekend away at our stylish boutique hotel is the perfect destination to spoil them. Make it extra-special by booking them a delicious meal in our newly revamped Greenes Restaurant.  With waterfall views, plush interiors and a menu featuring the best in local seasonal flavours, they’ll be transported to an oasis of calm.  They might even take you for a few cocktails in our multi award-winning cocktail bar-Cask to thank you afterwards.

Easter: April 20th:

Falling somewhat later this year, Easter is always a wonderful time of year for a city-break especially when it falls late.  You are pretty much guaranteed long bright days, perfect for exploring our bustling city.  Whether you’re looking to upgrade your spring wardrobe with some retail therapy, explore some of the city’s best visitor attractions including the eclectic Glucksman Art Gallery in the lower grounds of the insanely picturesque University College Cork campus or simply take in some of the city’s nightlife- you can be guaranteed both a restful and energising Easter break.

The May Bank Holiday Weekend: April 30th-May 4th:

For those that like city-breaks with a musical twist, there is nowhere you’d want to be other than Cork City over the May Bank Holiday weekend with the International Choral Festival bursting into song.  Welcoming choirs from all four corners of the globe, visitors are in for a treat of gala concerts, school concerts, national and international competitions with world-class performances popping up all around our favourite city.
